MANILA - A magnitude 4.9 earthquake shook Surigao del Norte on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the epicenter of the quake, which happened at 5:16 p.m., was 20 kilometers northeast of Claver.
Intensity IV was felt in Surigao City while Intensity III was felt in Dinagat Island and Butuan City.
The quake was tectonic in origin. It had a depth of 13 kilometers.
No damage was reported.
Aftershocks are also not expected, Phivolcs said.
