MANILA - State weather bureau PAGASA on early Tuesday morning raised a heavy rainfall yellow alert in Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, and Tarlac.
PAGASA, in an advisory issued at around 1 a.m., warned of possible floods in low-lying areas in the region.
The heavy rains were attributed to the southwest monsoon affecting the country.
A thunderstorm is also affecting Metro Manila and Bulacan that may persist for 2 hours, PAGASA said.
"All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods," the weather bureau said.
The public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned were advised to monitor the weather and wait for PAGASA's next advisory.
