MANILA – A potential cyclone was spotted off Batanes, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA said as of 4 a.m. Friday, a low pressure area (LPA) was spotted 450 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes.
Due to the LPA, PAGASA said Ilocos Region and the islands of Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds coming from the south to southwest will prevail over Luzon. Light to moderate winds coming from the south over Visayas and Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
