AKLAN – A man believed to be a drug pusher catering to tourists in Boracay was arrested in Kalibo over the weekend.

Around 50 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P300,000 were seized from Saidy Elias by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents in Barangay Poblacion.

Elias admitted that the drugs were recovered from him.

He, however, claimed that he was only asked by someone to deliver the package to Aklan and he was not aware of its contents.

The illegal drugs came from Mindanao and were shipped to Visayas via a roll-on, roll-off vessel.

The package was also sealed with carbon paper, making it hard for an X-ray machine to detect its contents.
