MANILA, Philippines – A third witness in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre, where at least 57 people were killed, has been found dead, authorities said.
The victim was identified as Esmail Amil Enog, a former driver of the Ampatuan family.
Enog testified that he drove dozens of armed men who participated in the massacre.
Enog, who has been missing for two months, is suspected to have been killed last March.
Prosecutor Nena Santos said Enog had declined to be placed under the Witness Protection Program.
Enog's killing has renewed calls for increased protection for the remaining witnesses. -- Report from ANC
