MANILA, Philippines – "Walang Hanggan" star Coco Martin refused to be compared to fellow Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz after several movie pundits noted similarities between the two actors who can both express emotions just with their eyes.
In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Martin said any actor would want to be recognized for his own talent and not because of similarities with other stars.
“Ako kasi 'yung tipo ng tao at artista na ayoko ikinukumpara sa kahit kanino kasi iba-iba naman kami bilang tao at iba iba rin naman yung ginagawa naming proyekto,” he said.
Martin and Cruz are among the more bankable leading men of their generation.
Martin, who started his career appearing in independent films, also refuses to feel pressured despite the high expectations for his upcoming movie “Born To Love You.”
Meanwhile, the actor is elated that his television series “Walang Hanggan” is lording it over on primetime. It recently scored a whopping 41% based on the Kantar Media-TNS National Household Ratings.
Magsisilbing inspirasyon ito para mas pagbutihan pa namin,” he said.
