NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Philippines – A pineapple with 79 crowns was spotted in Bacolod.

The owner of the odd pineapple, Arnel Lumogdang, said he does not intend to sell the 7-kilo pineapple. He is keeping it for good luck in his pineapple business.

Lumogdang has been selling pineapples for 14 years.

He said he purchased the mutated fruit in Don Salvador Benedicto in Negros Occidental.

Provincial agriculturist Edna Garde said fruits, such as the one in Lumogdang’s possession, have the tendency to mutate.

Meanwhile, a coconut bearing 3 small trees was found in Manapla, Negros Occidental.

The Philippine Coconut Authority said the coconut’s abnormality is a rare occurrence.

The owner of the coconut said there are plans to register the coconut into the Guinness Book of World Records.
