MANILA – Rains should be expected over the southern portion of Mindanao on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA said the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City) and Zamboanga Peninsula.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.
PAGASA weather forecaster Connie Rose Dadivas said the warm weather over Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon will continue due to the presence of a ridge of a high pressure area.
Temperature in Metro Manila soared to 36.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, the highest temperature in Metro Manila for this year.
The last recorded highest temperature in Metro Manila was at 36.4 degrees Celsius last May 1.
