Pilot killed in Tagum plane crash

TAGUM CITY, Philippines - A 37-year-old pilot was killed when his aircraft aerial spraying a banana plantation in Tagum City crashed Saturday morning, authorities said.

The victim, Steve Pacaldo, was declared dead at the Bishop Reagan Hospital.

The incident happened at Purok 7, Sitio San Isidro, Barangay La Filipina, Tagum City.

Residents said they heard a loud explosion and saw smoke coming from an aircraft in the sky.

They also noticed that the pilot seemed to be asking for help.

Some residents were thankful that the aircraft, which is owed by Sumifru Airtrack Agency, did not crash in a residential area.
