MANILA -- Two German tourists on board a yacht went missing near the waters of Sabah, Malaysia, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said on Tuesday.

Lt. Gen. Roy Deveraturda, commander of the AFP Western Command, identified the two German tourists as Estefan Victor Oconec, 71, and Herich Diesen, 55.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said the two tourists, who left Palawan last April 25, were supposed to go island-hopping to Sabah.

According to Deveraturda, the yacht of the two tourists has been recovered but the two were not on board.

He said they have yet to confirm if the two were abducted while at sea. -- Report from Edwin Sevidal, dzMM
