MANILA, Philippines – A Chinese national was arrested in a buy-bust operation by anti-illegal drugs police in Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Monday.
The suspect, identified as Chua Cheng alias Ape Chua, was caught with about 100 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) personnel.
Some P400,00 in marked money was used to arrest the Chinese national, who allegedly belongs to the Li-Chua drug group.
PDEA agent Jonathan Morales said the suspect was the 15th member from the notorious drug group to be arrested. He said a fellow drug pusher gave PDEA information on Cheng.
Morales added PDEA had met Cheng last April 5 but the buy-bust operation did not push through after the suspect said he ran out of supply.
Cheng is facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. – report from Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News
