26 WWII-era bombs unearthed in Batangas

MANILA, Philippines – Residents discovered 26 World War II-era aerial bombs in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

The Philippine National Police Regional Bomb Squad Unit on Monday checked the potentially destructive bombs.

The bombs were discovered in a construction site in Barangay Sta. Ana last Saturday.

The bomb squad detonated one of the bombs after it released smoke.

Authorities said each of the bombs weighs between 100 and 200 pounds. – report from Angelique Atienza, ABS-CBN News Southern Tagalog
