MANILA, Philippines – Six people are under investigation by police after over P100,000 worth of donations went missing from the San Pedro Calungsod Chapel in Cebu.

Two nuns, three security guards, and the chapel's secretary have been called to the Cebu City Police Theft and Robbery section for investigation.

Cebu City Police chief Mariano Natuel said the money, to be used for wedding and baptismal fees, was kept in a locked plastic drawer and only two people hold the keys to the drawer.

The guards on duty have denied involvement in the crime.

Natuel said theft cases in churches have been increasing. He said churches should consider installing closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras for security. -- Report from Joworski Alipon and Junrey Nadela, ABS-CBN News Central Visayas
