MANILA – An engineer working for the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and his wife were found dead inside their house in Lucban, Quezon Province on Monday morning.

The bodies of Elmer Alintahan, 51, and his teacher wife, Generosa, were found inside their house in Villa Loreto Subdivision in Barangay Kulapi.

Inspector Manny Calma, Lucba Police chief, said the victims were hacked to death.

Authorities said the house was in disarray when they arrived, but initial investigation said the victims' cash and cellphone were not taken.

Police said they will look into the possibility that the victims knew their killers, since there was no indication of forced entry in the house. – report from Johnny Glorioso, dzMM
