ILOILO -- The Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) has received a letter from the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI), detailing alleged harassment committed by some policemen against an Aglipayan priest in Lemery, Iloilo.

According to the letter, the harassment allegedly occurred last week when members of the 4th Maneuver Platoon of the IPPO went to the house of Father Adrian Quirong.

The cops allegedly called the attention of the priest because he was reportedly supporting members of the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People's Army (CPP-NPA).

Members of the 4th Maneuver Platoon confirmed they visited the priest.

However, they vehemently denied the allegation of harassment.

Barangay Chairman Jimmy Arano, who resides in front of the church, also denied that the harassment happened.

The IPPO said will still conduct an investigation to verify the complaint.
