MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) has been spotted near Guiuan, Eastern Samar, which is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) within 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.

The LPA is still outside PAR and was last spotted 1,220 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

PAGASA said the weather disturbance will possibly develop into a tropical cyclone and enter PAR within the next 24 to 36 hours.

Meanwhile, another LPA has been spotted 220 kilometers east-northeast of Surigao City.

This weather system will bring cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over eastern Visayas, particularly Eastern and Northern Samar.

Moreover, seaboards of Eastern and Central Visayas will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Residents in those areas are advised to be alert of possible flashfloods and landslides.
