CEBU CITY – President Benigno Aquino III arrived in Cebu City on Friday morning to campaign for Team PNoy and Liberal Party candidates.

In Lapu-Lapu City, President Aquino assured residents of infrastructure projects worth billions of pesos, including the improvement of the circumferential road in Lapu-Lapu City, a bus rapid transit, and the construction of bridges that would connect Cebu to its neighboring provinces, Bohol and Negros Oriental.

In Bogo, he lashed at the local opposition for threatening not to release Pantawid Pamilya funds to those identified with the administration party.

He said basic government services such as Pantawid Pamilya should not be used to influence votes.
"I will tell the DPWH [Department of Public Works and Highways] na gumamit ng pison para lumambot ang mukha ng makakapal na walang say sa programa ng pamahalaan," said Aquino.

The President arrived in Bogo to endorse Liberal Party (LP) local candidates Hilario “Junjun” Davide III and his running mate Agnes Magpale and other local LP officials.

He also assured residents that government is going to build 66,000 classrooms to provide better education facilities in the area.

He also promised to repair Bogo's hospitals so patients no longer have to travel to Cebu City for quality medical services.

Aquino is expected to make the rounds of vote-rich cities and municipalities in Cebu Friday, before heading back to the city for a grand rally in the evening.
