MANILA, Philippines – Twenty-one minors were rescued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in a "seminary" in Barangay Planas, Porac, Pampanga.

Authorities said the minors were invited to become missionaries at the God's Love Theological Seminary, but were instead tasked to help in constructing the facility.

Based on the complaint filed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Pampanga, the minors wanted to be rescued because they can no longer handle the manual labor.

NBI’s Central Luzon Regional Office said the seminary’s leader Reverend Lee Yun Ho, 54, was also arrested.

Yun Ho will face charges for violating Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Human Trafficking Act. -- Report from Ricky Velasco, dzMM
