MANILA, Philippines – An anti-crime crusader was shot dead in Bacolod, police said Monday.
Noli Carcueva, an official of Negros Occidental Anti-Crime Group, was shot dead by three men onboard two motorcycles, according to Bacolod Police chief, Superintendent Santiago Rapiz.
Rapiz said Carcueva, 50, was about to park his motorcycle near a mall along Palanca Street in Barangay 12 when the suspects ambushed him.
Carcueva sustained two gunshot wounds to the head and four to the body. The suspects used a 9 millimeter pistol to kill him.
Police are looking into the possibility that Carcuva’s work as an anti-crime crusader has something to do with his killing. – report from Yasmin Pascual-Dormido, dzMM
