ISABELA – Prices of vegetables and meat have gone up in Isabela this Holy Week due to what vendors claim is a low supply of goods.

Here is a list of some goods usually bought for the Lenten season:

Tilapia P100
Bangus P120 to P130
Galungong P120
Hipon P480 to P500
Pusit P120

"Siyempre bawal muna kumain ng karne dahil Holy Week, kaya isda na muna bibilhin ko," Linda Hernandez, a consumer, said.

Meat vendor Leonila Arellano, meanwhile, lamented about the low supply of meat.

"Wala na kasing nagkakatay ng baboy ngayon dahil maliliit pa yung iba… kaya yung mga nagbebenta ng baboy kahit mahal papatulan na namin may maibenta lang," she said.

Here are prices of meat in the market:
Baboy P180/kilo
Chicken P130/kilo
Beef P220/kilo

Vegetable prices have also gone up:

Brocolli P25 (from P20)
Tomato P10 (from P5)
petchay baguio P20 (from P10)
Cauliflower p35 (from P20)
Sayote P25 (from) p10
Beans P40 (from P20)
