1 dead, 15 hurt in Negros Occidental road mishap

TALISAY CITY – One died and at least 15 people were wounded in a collision of two vehicles in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday morning.

Authorities said a public utility jeepney collided with a van at a road intersection in Barangay Dos Hermanas past 6 a.m. today.

The lone fatality was identified as Junie Tornillo.

The injured passengers were brought to Silay City Provincial Hospital. Those who were in serious condition were transferred to a private hospital in Bacolod City.

The jeepney was from Barangay Dos Hermanas and was on its way to Talisay City proper when it collided with the van, which was headed to Bacolod-Silay Airport.

Police investigators have yet to determine who should be held responsible for the accident.
