BACOLOD CITY -- A 64-year old market collector succumbed to cardiac arrest while inside a gymnasium in E.B. Magalona town in Negros Occidental.
Charito Lorio was watching the undercard match of the Pacquiao-Bradley fight inside the Wilkinson Gymnasium beside the town hall when those around him noticed that he has fallen from his chair.
He was rushed to the nearby Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital but was not able to survive after an hour at the emergency room.
The victims is a widower with three children. According to his son Cyrus, he noticed nothing wrong with his father's health condition after his usual morning jog before going to the gymnasium to watch the fight.
Mayor David Albert Lacson expressed his sadness and will give financial support to the Lorio family since the vcitim is a municipal employee and is supposed to retire this December.
