CAGAYAN – Siblings who went for a swim at the river without adult supervision ended up drowning in Alcala, Cagayan.

The fatalities were identified as Judy Anne Timbas, 9; and her brother Jaymar, 8.

It was learned that the fatalities, along with their 5-year-old sibling went to the river in Brgy. Tupang, Alcala to swim, without their parents’ knowledge, on Tuesday.

That was the last time anyone saw Judy Anna and Jaymar alive. It was not mentioned in the reports, however, how their other sibling managed to leave the place of incident.
Their bodies were found only a day later, according to police investigators.

Their mother, Rosemarie Timba, had a hard time accepting her loss.

"Mabait at malambing ang magkapatid… masakit mawalan ng dalawang anak," she said.

Authorities have reiterated their call for safety when going to resorts or beaches. Kids need to be supervised by their parents during family outings to prevent accidents. - From a report by Darlene Gemino, ABS-CBN News Cagayan
