TUGUEGARAO CITY – A fire hit the Kammaranan Building at the provincial capitol of Cagayan and razed the Provincial Agriculture and Human Resources offices.

Employees were disheartened by the incident, as they were not able to salvage anything but for a number of documents.

According to Cagayan provincial agriculturist Mildred Abella, all their important documents and office equipment were destroyed by the fire.

Luckily, an employee took home some work and took the hard disk containing a list of the DA’s debtors.

Now, all they use is yellow paper as their logbook.

Meanwhile, employees of the provincial human resources department are using the Capitol gymnasium as their temporary office.

They also admitted that all files of the Capitol’s employees were destroyed in the fire.

An initial investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection revealed that an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire.

SFO1 Gerry Gaddao, BFP investigator, said there were no signs of foul play behind the incident. - Darlene Gemino, ABS-CBN News Cagayan
