Man jumps off ship in Antique

MANILA, Philippines – A man went missing after he jumped off a ship off the coast of Antique on Wednesday.

The man, identified as Bernardo Iglesias, jumped off a Negros Navigation vessel headed for Manila.

Iglesias’s wife Arlene tried to stop her husband from jumping but eventually lost her grip.

The crew of Tenaco Passenger Lines immediately conducted a search and rescue operation.

The Philippine Coast Guard has also assisted in the search.

According to Iglesias’s sister Evelyn Baligwat, his brother suffered a nervous breakdown which may have triggered the incident. -- Reports from Arnell Ozaeta, Noel Alamar and Zandro Ochona, dzMM
