SARANGANI, Philippines -- Sarangani congressional candidate Manny Pacquiao spent his Holy Week break with devotees in their annual procession in the town of Kiamba on Good Friday.

Despite the rains, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion and his wife Jinkee walked, together with other devotees, in the Via Cruxis procession in Kiamba.

From the St. Anthony Parish in Kiamba, the couple completed the Stations of the Cross to commemorate the suffering endured by Jesus Christ.

Pacquiao said he offered a prayer of thanks for everything he has in his life.

He also said that aside from wooing voters, it is also important to seek God’s help to win the elections.

“Ito nagprusisyon ako, tapos nagdasal. Reflect muna,” he said.

He added that there is always time for leisure, which is why he spent his Good Friday in the procession.

"'Yung bakasyon, madali lang naman 'yan," said the pound-for-pound king.

Pacquiao is up against Roy Chiongbian, younger brother of Sarangani Rep. Erwin Chiongbian. One analyst has predicted he will face a tough fight against the Chiongbians. (Read: Pacquiao faces tough fight vs Chiongbians)
