3 hurt in Abu Sayyaf clash in Sulu

MANILA -- Three civilians were injured after a firefight ensued between government troops and suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf Group in Patikul, Sulu, authorities said on Saturday.

An undetermined number of armed men believed to be Abu Sayyaf members harassed the forces of the Marine Corps and the Marine Battalion Landing Team 2 in their detachment in Barangay Bungkaung.

The incident resulted to an exchange of gunfire, which lasted for about 50 minutes.

Three civilians were wounded in the firefight.

They were identified as Alnajir Suhaili, Abdulmain Jamasali and Milding Amil. -- Report from Queenie Casimiro, ABS-CBN News Zamboanga
