MANILA - A police task force has been formed to find the suspect in the shooting of former beauty queen and now Hagonoy, Bulacan Councilor Dianne Cervantes.

Cervantes was on her way home on board a motorcycle driven by her staff Romelita Raymundo when she was shot by a lone gunman in Barangay San Isidro II, Paombong on Tuesday evening.

Orduña said they are looking at politics as one of the possible motives behind the shooting of Cervantes, who is now on her last term as councilor.

He said police authorities have yet to ask Cervantes if she has received any threats to her life prior to the incident.

Police said Cervantes and Raymundo had just come from a series of activities at the municipal hall when the shooting incident occurred.

Cervantes sustained gunshot wounds in her shoulder and nape.

Raymundo told police that the gunman wore a jacket and did not remove his helmet during the shooting.
