PAMPANGA - A Filipino-Chinese businessman who was abducted Thursday in Angeles City was released by his captors on Saturday, a police source confirmed.
The dzMM source said the unidentified trader was freed at a secluded area in Barangay Pampang at around 2:20 a.m.
According to initial investigation, the victim was in front of his hardware store in Barangay Malabanias when snatched by still unidentified suspects at past 8 a.m. Thursday.
A witness said the victim was forcibly loaded into a white closed van.
The family of the businessman declined to give an interview, asking for time to let the victim recover from the trauma caused by the abduction.
Authorities have yet to clarify how and why the businessman was released by the suspects. -- Report from Jay Pelayo IV, dzMM
