LEGAZPI CITY -- Around 172 hectares of farm lands in Camalig, Albay are suffering from intense heat and lack of water supply.
According to the Municipal Agriculture Office of Camalig, the drought affects 8 barangays in their town.
Herminia Napiri, municipal agriculturist of Camalig, added that farmers cannot harvest anything as most of their crops are damaged.
It has also caused P112 million worth of damage to crops.
Most of the affected lands are used for rice and vegetable farming.
Farmers in Camalig are now asking for an irrigation system to help them survive the drought, especially in the coming planting season. -- report from Jose Carretero, ABS-CBN News Bicol
