MANILA, Philippines – Two teenage nude dancers were rescued from a nightclub in Cagayan de Oro.
The raid was conducted in a bar along Capistrano Street in Barangay Divisoria early morning on Friday.
“Riza”, one of the two rescued minors, justified her work at the nightclub, saying it was better than working in a mall.
“Mas mabuti ito dahil madali ang pera kaysa mag-trabaho sa mall,” she said in a translation.
A video taken by police operatives prior to the raid showed a woman slowly removing her clothes while dancing in front of customers.
This was the signal for police to move in.
Police Senior Inspector Philipp Pontillas said the establishment had no permit to operate and violated Republic Act 7610 or the anti-child abuse law.
The two rescued teenagers will be brought to the Social Development Center to undergo counseling. Report from Shiela Labrador, ABS-CBN News
