CEBU – A public hospital in Cebu has 19 suspected cases of typhoid fever.
The Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Region 7 reported that there are 19 suspected cases of typhoid fever at the Tuburan District Hospital in Tuburan, Cebu.
The patients, apparently from Brgy. Montealegre in Tuburan, all exhibit symptoms of the disease.
Initial investigations by health officials show that the source may be the water from a deep well located in the area.
The Department of Health, meanwhile, assured that there are enough medicines for the patients.
They also recommended treating the water in the deep well with chlorine to make it safe for human consumption. -- Report from Reno Tallada, ABS-CBN Central Visayas
