MANILA – Police clashed with several activists and survivors of Typhoon Pablo again at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 11 office in Davao City on Wednesday.
A police officer was wounded after rocks were thrown at them by the group.
Two activists were also hurt in the clash that occurred at around 10:30 a.m.
At around 11:45 a.m., tension again erupted after the activists allegedly spotted a police officer in civilian clothes carrying a firearm.
Davao City Police Director Ronald Dela Rosa, meanwhile, said he instructed police to monitor and secure the area.
Davao City Mayor Sarah Duterte has also ordered police to disperse the rally outside the DSWD office.
The activists accused the DSWD of hoarding the relief goods for the survivors of Typhoon Pablo.
They ransacked the office on Tuesday, taking with them sacks of rice that were supposed to be distributed to victims of Tropical Depression Crising. -- Report from Maymay Benedicto, dzMM
