Abandoned motorbike sparks bomb scare in CDO
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- Cagayan De Oro City's police bomb squad checked an abandoned motorcycle in front of the city hall after receiving reports that a member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) is in the city.
The motorcycle was left in front of the city hall on Tuesday, and security guards called the police when nobody took it within the day.
There was no bomb found on the motorcycle.
Authorities also failed to find documents to identify the owner of the motorcycle.
Security in the city has been intensified following a text message claiming that a certain Shiek Kahar Mundos, a member of the BIFF and a bomb maker, is in the city.
Mundos is also allegedly connected with the Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist network.
