MANILA – The salvage operation for the grounded USS Guardian at the Tubbataha Reef is going smoothly, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
The US Navy ship has been stuck at the Tubbataha Reef since January 17, and the salvage operation was delayed several times.
Coast Guard spokesperson Commander Armando Balilo told ANC that several parts of the vessel have already been dismantled.
Balilo added that the deadline for the operation is March 23, but it may still be extended. -- ANC
