MANILA - The Supreme Court (SC) has junked the petition of party-list group Abante Bicol Oragon, Inc. (ABO) for a reversal of their disqualification from the 2013 mid-term polls.

In an en banc ruling, the high court dismissed ABO's petition against the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for failure to submit a proof of service (registry/service receipts) as required by the Rules of Civil Procedure.

The high court also ruled that the petition was insufficient in form since its verification was based on personal knowledge and belief, and for failure to state material dates that showed that the petition was filed on time.

ABO is one of 62 party-list groups disqualified by the poll body by virtue of its authority under Sec 6(8) of the Omnibus Elections Code.
