Blast hits Burnham Park, injures 3
MANILA (3rd UPDATE) - A grenade explosion rocked Burnham Park in Baguio City Sunday morning, injuring three persons.
The victims were identified as Gilbert Salvador, Joseph Espada and Genard Palomique. All three are members of the Baguio City Volunteers against Drugs.
The grenade blast happened at 6:30 a.m. at the Melvin Jones Grandstand of Burnham Park.
Salvador was reportedly able to see the perpetrator of the grenade blast, but he was unable to go after the suspect because of his shrapnel wounds.
The suspect escaped by mixing with the crowd who were waiting for the Panagbenga street parade.
The victims were rushed to the Baguio City General Hospital for treatment. -- report from Armenio Supang, Baguio correspondent, radio DZMM
