School to file raps vs educational tours agency

BATANGAS (2nd UPDATE) – Marinduque State College (MSC) is planning to file charges against Saint Barachiel Educational Tours, the agency that arranged the transportation and lodging of the tourism students in the fatal accident in Tuba town, Benguet Thursday evening.

Seven people were killed in the incident. They were identified as:

  • Diane Lauro
  • Mariel Mingi
  • Princess Ann Pastorside
  • Leopoldo Nanax
  • Carlo Pintor
  • Melvin Molatino
  • Jenny Liza Lantorva

In an interview with MSC spokesperson Dr. Leodegario Jalos, he said that aside from reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and multiple physical injuries charges against the two drivers, they will also file charges against the owner of the travel agency.

"Bawat isa sa mga biktima, magsasampa ng kaso laban sa driver at sa St. Barachiel Educational Tours. So 30 plus ‘yun," Jalos said.

The school has not been able to contact the agency after the incident.

Meantime, the school is shouldering all the hospitalization expenses of the victims, as well as the transportation, lodging, and allowance of their relatives going to Baguio City.

ABS CBN-Southern Tagalog also tried to get the side of the agency but they have yet to respond, as of posting.
