MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) is set to observe activity at the shore of Dumanhug in Cebu after residents claimed that they spotted "boiling water" rising out of the seafloor.
Residents of Barangay Looc said the boiling water comes from a vent on the seafloor measuring 4 inches wide.
They said they first noticed the event after the region was hit by a 6.9-magnitude earthquake last February 6.
The boiling water is more evident during low tide, according to the residents. -- Report from Edgar Escalante, ABS-CBN News Central Visayas
