MANILA, Philippines – Another strong aftershock was felt in Negros Oriental at dawn on Sunday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the magnitude 4.1 aftershock rocked Vallehermoso at 3:30 a.m.
Phivolcs said they have recorded over 1,700 atfershocks in the area since a magnitude 6.9-quake killed 51 people and devastated several towns and cities there on February 6.
Phivolcs, however, said only over 100 of these aftershocks were felt.
This week, rescue and retreival operations for those missing have been halted as hope dimmed for survivors. -- ANC
