MANILA, Philippines – A 6.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded off the province of Sarangani Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to Delfin Garcia of Phivolcs, the quake’s epicenter was recorded in waters 30 kilometers east of Sarangani and occurred at 12:37 p.m.
Garcia said there is no tsunami alert warning in the area.
Intensity 4 was felt in Mati and Taragona, Davao Oriental while intensity 3 was felt in Davao City.
Intensity 2, meanwhile, was felt in General Santos City, Butuan City and Malaybalay in Bukidnon.
No casualties and damages were reported, as of posting.
