MANILA - The Palace said it is open to any information and also to the Senate proposal to investigate the alleged smuggling at Port Irene.

"Bukas po tayo sa kahit anong impormasyon na magpapatunay po o at least will start an investigation on these allegations," Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said.

The Bureau of Customs said it has ordered the suspension of the release of 200 cars from the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority.

Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon said the suspension is in compliance with a Jan. 7, 2013 Supreme Court ruling upholding the constitutionality of Executive Order 156, which partially bans the importation of used vehicles.
