MANILA -- A man allegedly involved in the death of the father of comedian and magician Jeffrey Tam was arrested in Lucena City Thursday night, police said.
Quezon provincial police identified the suspect as Patrick Palemo Nobleza, a 21-year-old resident of Brgy. Cotta, Lucena City.
According to Senior Superintendent Ronnie Ilagan, a tricycle driver saw Nobleza driving Tam's car after the incident.
Alfredo Francisco Tam, 67, was found dead on the side of the road at the boundary of Tayabas and Lucena cities at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The vehicle owned by the victim was later found in Barangay Mayao Crossing in Lucena.
Police said the car's interior was stained with blood.
A heavy-duty wire cutter believed to have beeen used in killing the victim was also recovered.
