300 Bayan Patrollers in Maguindanao vow not to sell votes

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines – ABS-CBN News Cotabato launched Bayan Mo iPatrol Mo (BMPM) in Buluan town, Maguindanao Wednesday afternoon.

Buluan is known to be the bailiwick of Governor Toto Mangudadatu. He is running against Sultan Kudarat Mayor Datu Tucao Mastura.

The youth sector in Buluan invited BMPM to orient a hundreds of scholars who attended and participated in the celebration of Maguindanao's 2nd Sagayan Festival.

There were 339 Bayan Patrollers who successfully registered and are now part of the citizens' arm of ABS-CBN.

The Bayan Patrollers participated in the open forum, and most of the questions were about their role as citizen journalists.

In the BMPM orientation, patrollers showed enthusiasm and interest in being instruments for change.

They also vowed not to sell their votes.

BMPM Tayo Na was first launched in Cotabato City last month when almost 1,000 patrollers registered.

BMPM aims to empower the people to be an army of change through citizen journalism.
