DOJ has witness in Infanta mayor's slay
MANILA - A teenaged witness is key in the killing of Infanta Mayor Ruperto Martinez, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Tuesday.
The 16-year-old witness, now under the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Witness Protection Program (WPP), has executed an affidavit narrating that he was present in at least 2 occasions, with his father, when Martinez's killing was being planned by the alleged mastermind (s).
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is poised to file charges against the alleged mastermind(s).
Martinez was shot in the head and neck by his assassins in front of his house at Barangay Cato in Infanta last December 15, hours after a rally staged by residents against a local infrastructure project.
