CEBU – Four people were victimized in a shooting incident by an unidentified suspect in Barangay Nangka, Balamban at past 10 p.m. Friday.

A certain Ernel Bucag, 21, was declared dead on the spot, while a certain Rey Claezer Toong, 20, died in the hospital.

The others who were wounded were identified as Clint and Rhembran Estan. Both underwent operations at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

Based on the initial investigation of Balamban police, Bucag, Toong and Rhembran Estan were having a drinking session in a hut along the road in their barangay while Clint Estan was playing computer games at an Internet cafe just behind the hut when people in the neighborhood suddenly heard continuous sounds of a firearm.

When they checked out where the noise was coming from after a few minutes, they only saw the victims lying on the ground.

Eleven empty bullet shells were recovered by the authorities in the area of the incident.

Authorities added no one witnessed the incident because the area where the hut is located doesn't have lights at night.

Police said they are still conducting follow-up operations as they follow the angles of drugs and illegal gambling.

Mayor Stefan Binghay of Balamban said he is disappointed with the incident but promised financial assistance for the families of the victims.
