MANILA – Illegal drugs worth around P1.75 million were seized from an alleged member of a transnational drug syndicate in a buy-bust operation in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Valley in northern Philippines.

The 45-year-old suspect, Scoec Bosco, was arrested Thursday morning in a hotel along Arellano St., Brgy. 6 in Tuguegarao.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional director Juvenal Azurin said Bosco was monitored by authorities for 2 weeks and was considered a “high value target.”

Bosco is carrying a US passport, but authorities are still verifying his nationality and how long he has been staying in the country.

He will face charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Aside from sachets of “shabu,” also recovered from the suspect was the P30,000 marked money. -- Report from Hanna Salatan, ABS-CBN News Cagayan Valley
