CEBU – A sex video scandal involving a graduating college student from the University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu is circulating online.

The student admits it's her on the video, but she appeals to the public not to spread it any further.

The victim, “Trish” (not her real name), said the video spread online after her boyfriend's phone was stolen.

She urges netizens to stop spreading the video especially now that she is also being bullied on social media.

The victim thanks her school for its support amid criticisms hurled at the students and the school itself due to the scandal.

University president Fr. Peter Silab urges the public for understanding and support.

"This incident does not define what and who we are,” said Silab.

This appeal was welcomed by the student body.

The university clarifies that the 24-year-old student can still graduate.

"Once she is able to complete academic requirements of her course and comply with the necessary procedure for graduation, she will graduate," Silab said. -- ANC
