MANILA -- A pick-up truck fell off a broken bridge in Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) early morning Thursday.

The driver and three passengers were immediately brought to the hospital. Another passenger, identified as Atty. Justinian Licnachan, died as he was being treated in Mabalacat District Hospital.

Based on initial investigation, the truck was on North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), bound for Baguio.

They accidentally took a wrong entry in SCTEX, made a u-turn, and accidentally went straight to a damaged bridge.

The bridge was closed to traffic after it was damaged during the onslaught of typhoon 'Santi' last year.

Meanwhile, the driver, Mokong Panitiw of Ifugao, and his three passengers, James Panitiw, Jayson Maayon, and Rolen Bagoyboi, are in stable and are recuperating in the hospital. -- report from Gracie Rutao, ABS-CBN News Pampanga
