MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Three men died after a scaffolding collapsed inside a coal plant in Pililia, Rizal on Sunday afternoon.
Hopes of survival for two others, who remain trapped under the rubble, are becoming dimmer as rescue workers are having a hard a time disengaging the 76-meter collapsed structure inside SPC Power Plant.
Authorities said the body of Edwin Fidel was the first to be recovered. The remains of two others, identified as Gregorio Ricalde and Roberto Mesias, were found Monday morning.
Ten others were wounded in the accident. Six of them have already been discharged from the Tanay General Hospital, while the rest remain confined due to severe injuries.
